I am a creative consultant that has worked in all aspects of the specialty leather business, from visual merchandiser and buyer to designer of high-end leather goods and shoes.
I am a native New Yorker, but based in Florence, Italy, where I headed the Footwear and Accessories design program at POLIMODA and worked at the International institute of Fashion Design and Marketing, as a senior lecturer in the Luxury Management Masters with a program focused on the tradition of quality and craft of the Tuscan leather district and innovative personal research.
My past work includes collection design and creative network for CAMPER, Pancaldi 1888, Luisa Via Roma, and special corporate projects for Ferragamo, Gucci, Ballentyne and Ferrari.
Apart form being one of the founding members of The Footwearists, I am currently also director of International and Creative studies at HIKO MIZUNO in Tokyo and director of Didactic Projects for the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale that promotes the use of veg tan leather. For this institute I run the prestigious Craft the Leather programs, connecting international design institutes with a culture of making.
I am mainly curious about how creativity works, and mentor through creativity workshops to encourage cultural sustainability of heritage craft, which is also what I will be doing for The Footwearists, adding a whole new angle to the sneaker industry.
